Load a Design File

Load a Design File that Contains Only Coordinates

  1. In the Setup Development > Headings tab, click Load Design.
  2. The Choose a Centreline Design form appears.

  3. Select the file you want to load.
  4. Click Open.
  5. If you selected a GEMS project, the Workspace Browser form appears, in which you select the model workspace and click Ok.
  6. Note: You can also choose a file to load by dragging a file from Windows Explorer into the Setup Development > Headings tab.

    If you already have a design file loaded, you are prompted to keep the current parameters.

  7. If you want headings in the new design file that have the same name, or same start point and direction, to have the same parameters, click Yes.
  8. Yes is the recommended option. If you select No, all existing parameters are deleted.

    The file is loaded immediately and displayed in an Isometric view in the 3D Canvas.

Load a Design File that Was Created in MineSched or Surpac AUD and Contains Coordinates and Description Fields

  1. In the Setup Development > Headings tab, click Load Design.
  2. The Choose a Centreline Design form appears.

  3. Select the string file you want to load.
  4. Click Open.
  5. Note: You can also choose a file to load by dragging a file from Windows Explorer into the Setup Development > Headings tab.

    If you already have a design file loaded, you are prompted to keep the current parameters.

  6. If you want headings in the new design file that have the same name, or same start point and direction, to have the same parameters, click Yes.
  7. Yes is the recommended option. If you select No, all existing parameters are deleted.

    The Import Centreline Design displays the message "Was this design made for MineSched?".

  8. Click Yes.
  9. The design string file is loaded and displayed in the 3D Canvas. The data in the description fields of the string file is automatically associated with the MineSched parameters as shown in the following table.

Load a Design File that Was Not Created in MineSched or Surpac AUD and Contains Coordinates and Parameter Fields

  1. In the Setup Development > Headings tab, click Load Design.
  2. The Choose a Centreline Design form appears.

  3. Select the file you want to load.
  4. Click Open.
  5. Note: You can also choose a file to load by dragging a file from Windows Explorer into the Setup Development > Headings tab.

    If you already have a design file loaded, you are prompted to keep the current parameters.

  6. If you want headings in the new design file that have the same name, or same start point and direction, to have the same parameters, click Yes (recommended).
  7. Yes is the recommended option. If you select No, all existing parameters are deleted.

  8. If the Import Centreline Design form displays the message "Was this design made for MineSched?", click No.
  9. A new Import Centreline Design form appears with a grid displaying a column for each parameter field in the file.

  10. Using the list at the top of each column, map the MineSched parameters to the parameter fields in the file.
  11. Define the parameter import option:
    • If you want to import parameters from only the start and end points of each line, select the Import parameters from segment start and end points only check box.
    • If you want to import parameters from any point in any line, clear the Import parameters from segment start and end points only check box.
  12. Note: Importing from only start and end points of each line is the recommended method for importing parameters.

  13. Click OK.
  14. The design file is loaded and displayed in the 3D Canvas, and the data in the parameter fields is associated with the MineSched parameters you selected in the Import Centreline Design form.
